The Hurricanes were looking for something “better” than simple, flat presentations. “We wanted a consistent place to showcase our arena and digital signage inventory,” said to Marie Bobalik, Senior Manager of Corporate Partnerships at the Hurricanes.
Prior to being one of the first teams to adopt the Digideck platform, a decision Bobalik was involved in, the Hurricanes’ sales team was using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint for sponsorship proposals and recaps. Any customization consisted of their in-house graphic design team recreating the the wheel, taking their time away from other projects, including partner activations and promotions.
For the Hurricanes, the Digideck plays a role in two key sales areas: keeping all sponsorship inventory in one location – accelerating the sales cycle – and generating presentations that realistically highlight partnerships.
“A lot of people are caught off guard when we are able to give them such a detailed proposal or recap,” said Bobalik. “It’s just so realistic. The Digideck is unlike anything else on the market”
When asked what makes the Digideck unique, Bobalik said, “I appreciate the amount of interactivity and detail that goes into these presentations. We can include everything in the Digideck. Videos, animated GIFs, sponsor logos or high-resolution images – all within one organized, updated media library.”
Because of the collaborative nature of the admin interface, sales team members across the organization can review previous pitches to see what content has worked the best. “Being able to house all of the Hurricanes presentations and media library assets in one place is a game changer for us,” Bobalik said. “It’s a fantastic extension of the sales process.”
Today, the Digideck is mandatory for the entire Hurricanes sales team. Or, as Bobalik puts it, “no more PowerPoint or anything like PowerPoint.” The Hurricanes, who started using the Digideck for sponsorship sales, now use the product for recaps, group ticket sales and premium services. “It’s the first thing I turn to. It’s become second nature and I don’t even think twice about doing something else,” said Bobalik.
Carolina Hurricanes VP of Corporate Partnerships, Jim Ballweg, said, “The Digideck gives us flexibility and makes the sales process much more engaging and impactful whether we are presenting a proposal or a season recap. It allows our sales team to communicate in a very visual way with prospects by adding interactive capabilities like video, rich media, audio, and analytics to help accelerate the sales cycle in a controlled effective way.”
